Gary Schlarbaum Ph.D., CFA

Dr. Schlarbaum has worked in the investment industry since 1980. Most recently he was Managing Director of Palliser Bay Investment Management and Director of Risk Management at Global Capital Management, Inc. Prior to Palliser Bay he co-founded Schlarbaum Capital Management, LLC, a quantitative long/short equity hedge fund.

Prior to Schlarbaum Capital, he was head of Domestic Equity at Miller, Anderson & Sherrerd, now part of Morgan Stanley Asset Management. Dr. Schlarbaum was directly responsible for managing the MAS Small Cap Value Fund from 1988 until March, 2002. Prior to joining Miller, Anderson & Sherrerd in 1987, Dr. Schlarbaum was formerly head of Asset Allocation at First Chicago Investment Advisors (now Brinson Partners) where he was employed from 1984 to 1987. He taught finance at Purdue University from 1969 to 1984. Dr. Schlarbaum graduated from Coe College (BA) in 1965 and The University of Pennsylvania (Ph.D. in finance) in 1971, and is currently a member of The Philadelphia Society of Security Analysts and the CFA Institute, and holds a CFA designation.

Dr. Schlarbaum currently serves as a director of CCMG, Pennsylvania Trust, the independent Institute, Mises Institute, and The Church Farm School and is a lifetime Trustee of Coe College.
