Robert Roche is an investor in Krane Funds Advisors, and has helped promote the company’s growth as an advisor. He serves as the President of Roche Enterprises, an investor in Krane Funds Advisors.

Throughout three decades as a business leader, Roche has founded and invested in business ventures and development projects in the U.S., China and the greater Asia-Pacific region. He co-founded Acorn International in 1997 and currently serves as the company’s Chairman and CEO. Roche co-founded and financed URBN Hotel Shanghai, which launched in 2004 as the first carbon-neutral hotel in China. He is Chairman of Cachet Hotel Group (CHG), an international hospitality brand that manages hotels, restaurants and nightlife destinations in the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas. Roche also manages major real estate development projects abroad and in the U.S., including Sand Hollow Resort in Utah and Gallup Land Partners and Gallup Energy Logistics Park in New Mexico.

Robert Roche is a proponent of expanding U.S.-China cooperation, and has acted as a civic representative in bilateral trade and business bodies. In 2014, he served as Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai. Roche is a board member and co-founder of the Business Forward Foundation, helping business leaders collaborate with policy makers to achieve economic growth and prosperity. Through personal philanthropy and the Roche Family Foundation, he has backed organizations that promote cultural exchange and business ties between the two nations including the U.S.-China Strong Foundation and Americans Promoting Study Abroad. He serves as a member of the Board for U.S.-China Strong.
