Carbon Investing: The Case For A Global Approach with KRBN – Now Available to EU Investors
Wednesday, 30 October 2024
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm GMT (3:00 pm - 4:00 pm CET)

Climate change is an existential risk that we must contain through curbing greenhouse gas emissions on a global scale. Economists and scientists agree that some of the best tools to reduce emissions are cap-and-trade programs, which price carbon emissions through carbon credits regulated by government emissions trading systems (ETSs). In recent years, ETSs have expanded to cover nearly a quarter of the world’s emissions1, and the futures market for these credits reached nearly one trillion dollars last year.2

The universe of the largest investable ETSs, respectively, includes the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme, the California Cap-and-Trade Program, the Regional Green House Gas Initiative (RGGI), which covers the Northeastern US power market, and the UK Emissions Trading Scheme. Many European investors are aware of the European Union Allowance (EUA) market but have not had a liquid way to invest in the global carbon allowance opportunity until now.

Join KraneShares Head of Climate Investments Luke Oliver and CLIFI Partner Eron Bloomgarden as they discuss:

  • The global carbon allowance landscape
  • Potential benefits of a global carbon allocation over single markets
  • Portfolio impact of allocating to global carbon
  • Introduction to the KraneShares Global Carbon Strategy ETC (Ticker: KRBN) on Borsa Italiana and Deutsche Börse Xetra, and coming soon to the London Stock Exchange
  • Comprehensive Q&A
